The SRVU rests on three pillars. Advocacy, service and development.
Advocacy takes place through the appointment of council members within the University Student Council (USR), the highest student participation body within the VU. In addition, advocacy takes place at the national level through the National Student Union (LSVb) and by campaigning. Service takes place through the various services that the SRVU offers to students. These are the Legal Aid, Room Office, and StudentD0k. The third pillar of the SRVU is development. The SRVU Student Union strives for the development of the university, but also for the personal development of the student. The student can develop himself by becoming an active member of the SRVU by, for example, taking a seat on one of the committees. The SRVU supports the development of the students by working towards optimal facilities.
