On May 4th, we do not commemorate nazi’s

This plaque is meant to remember the victims of the Second World war. Nevertheless, the name of a collaborator, who was part of the NSB party, is on it (Johan Heinsius), as Ad Valvas recently reported (as shown by research from the Historisch Documentatiecentrum voor het Nederlands Protestantisme).

With liberation day coming up, we want to remember the victims of the Second World war; it feels wrong to have the name of one of the perpetrators honoured here, in VU.

Therefore, SRVU and the Communist Youth Movement of the Netherlands have taped over his name to make sure the focus is on the innocent victims. We demand that the VU removes his name from the plaque as soon as possible.

So we may never forget.
